Victor Pastrana-Gomez, BSc
MD/PhD Student
Victor is a student in the MSTP (MD/PhD) at CWRU. Before embarking on this journey, Victor received his BS in Bioengineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
After graduation, he returned to Cincinnati (Cincinnati Children's Hospital) to study stem cells and how to program them to develop vascularized lung, colonic, and intestinal organoids through novel co-differentiation techniques. This was done while developing professional skills and gaining experience in lab management under the mentorship of Dr. Mingxia Gu MD, PhD.
Now in the lab of Dr. Agata A. Exner he shifts his focus to nanoscale ultrasound contrast to predict drug kinetics within tumors.
